Brenna Smith – Barn Manager & Head Trainer
Brenna began riding at the age of seven, and purchased her first horse at the age of fourteen. She worked at a local horse farm for two years, caring for horses and maintaining a large boarder's program at a hunter show barn. She started her own horse under saddle before continuing her career in Waynesboro. There she continued to break and train sport horses for an Irish sport horse farm. In addition, Brenna spent a summer working in Charlottesville with top jumper trainers. Upon her return to the Richmond area, Brenna trained in eventing with Abby Desantis. She proceeded to show on the local hunter circuit and later in eventing. Brenna enjoys working with young horses and is currently working with her young Irish Sporthorse as an eventing prospect. As an instructor, she strives for teaching proper horsemanship by example and always with a positive attitude. Likewise, her consideration and awareness for each individual allows for the most beneficial and rewarding experience for all clients. Conclusively, her attention to detail, encouraging perspective, and incisive opinions create for the best possible environment for horses and riders alike.
